Henry Hate and the Cube

Well this looks cool. No pun intended there. Did anyone get to see this? It’s the newly arrived Nissan Cube frozen in 8000 litres of water. Tattoo artist Henry Hate provided the artwork. Changes in colour were achieved by an interactive sensor panel.

Crafted

February 22nd, 2010

Crafted is a new scheme which pairs craft makers with leaders in the luxury sector in mentoring relationships. Launched in November 2009, the scheme is now in its fourth month and the mentoring relationships are well underway. Mentees are supported by specialists in areas such as intellectual property rights, e-commerce and international growth and trade, and a six-month programme of workshops hosted by Andaz Hotel Liverpool Street.

Crafted has been developed by Walpole and Arts & Business to enable makers to develop their business skills whilst at the same time connecting luxury businesses with a new generation of skilled crafts people. The scheme is funded by the American Express Foundation.

For further information on participating in Crafted 2010 visit www.crafteduk.org.

About to start preparing a romantic meal with my husband.  I know what I said about Valentine’s Day but I have entered into the spirit of things.

Have a great day everyone.

Brrrrrrr

February 10th, 2010
Scarf by Rhea Clements

Button up, it’s cold again. It looks as though we’re in for another bout of snow this week.

I found this versatile scarf from Rhea Clements.  It’s warm enough to be worn as a winter scarf and a nifty loop allows easy conversion to a pretty wrap.  Knitted from 100% bamboo tape, this scarf can be worn all year round.

It costs $32 (approx £20). Buy from www.rheaclements.etsy.com.
