Bad Santa

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009
Bad Santa

All set for Christmas? Made your lists yet? Last year Locher launched a competition called Bad Santa. It was so successful that they’re running it for a second year. Here’s how it works. Instead of writing about how good you were this year, Evil Santa (aka Locher) wants to know how bad you’ve been. That’s right. He wants to know about all your naughty deeds and dirty dealings.

Email your letters to badsanta@lochers.com to be in with a chance of winning. The best letters will be posted anonymously on the Locher Facebook fan page and the letters to get the most “Facebook likes” will be the winners. Ten lucky people will have the opportunity to receive anything they want from the Locher store (with the exception of the new limited edition iPhone cases).

Letters can be emailed up to 20th December. Winners will be announced on 22nd December.

Here’s a little taster of what’s up for grabs.

A Haiku On Smallness

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009
Miniature Leather Journal

Competition: win a Miniature Leather Journal by Susan Green Books

The theme of this competition is twofold. Combining Susan Green’s love of nature and her small but perfectly formed miniature journals, she is inviting you to write her a poem. A Haiku in fact. The theme must be ’smallness’ and in true Haiku tradition must also evoke the natural world.

The winner will be presented with one of Susan’s beautiful miniature leather journals.

For more information visit www.susangreenbooks.com.

The closing date is 28th November.

Psst. If you need a reminder about how to write a Haiku, visit the British Haiku Society website.

GNCCF - Tickets up for Grabs

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009
Exhibitors at the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair

Spinningfields is to host this year’s Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair. Situated in an elegant purpose-built pavilion on Hardman Boulevard, in the heart of Manchester, the fair provides a unique shopping experience where original contemporary craft can be purchased and commissioned directly from the UK’s leading designer-makers. It’s one of the only events of its kind in the north, where trade buyers and the public can browse and buy.

Now in its second year, the fair features over 140 exhibitors showcasing the finest works of contemporary craft, including jewellery, interiors, fashion accessories, ceramics, glass, metal-work, furniture and more. Established makers and emerging talent have been selected by a panel of experts to ensure work is both innovative and of the highest quality.

If you’d like to go along I have three pairs of tickets to give away. Leave a comment or send me an email at info [at] indiequarter [dot] com to be entered into the prize draw. Competition closes Friday 25 September.

Last year’s event was a great success and I’d highly recommend it.
