I have a list of new skills I’m going to learn next year. Book binding is one of them. There’s just something about books, something aside from their content, whether they’re home to a novel or to illustrations or to your own ponderings. I love them just for the sake of them.
One of my favourite book binders is Susan Green. She makes beautiful hand bound journals, notebooks and artists’ sketchbooks, blending traditional skills with contemporary design.
Susan was recently selected by Deborah Meaden in her Twelve Tweets of Christmas campaign. For the first twelve days of Christmas Deborah selected a British manufacturer to promote to her 35,000 plus Twitter followers to encourage shoppers to buy from British manufacturers this Christmas.
