One to Watch – abigail*ryan

I’m excited to kick off the week with a brand ‘new to me’ design label. I say ‘new to me’ because abigail*ryan is already making headway in the design world. The design duo took away the ‘Best New Launchpad Exhibitor’ accolade at Pulse this year; their first ever trade show. And a range of their cushions will be stocked by Liberty this autumn / winter season.
Abigail Percy and Ryan Bell are a girlfriend /boyfriend design team based in Belfast. Their patterns are created using Abigail’s pen and ink botanical drawings, before Ryan takes over with his digital wizardry. The fabrics are then printed and turned into a range of hand-sewn products in their Belfast based studio.
This cushion is on of my favourite pieces. It is digitally printed on upholstery weight cotton and adorned with exuberant Dahlia blooms from Abigail’s botanical drawings. The three subtle shades of pink (with a touch of heather) are overlaid on grey and the back of the cushion is fashioned from locally milled Irish linen. The cushions are filled with a beautifully soft and luxurious duck feather insert.
Hyndrangea Tea Towel in Avocado in 100% pure unbleached cotton which becomes more absorbent with every wash.
Gorgeous Heathered Grey and Olive Cushion with reverse made from 100% Irish Linen, sourced from a mill in Belfast that has been manufacturing this the cloth for over 40 years.
