We went along to the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair last night to judge the prize for best stand.
The quality this year is extremely high and the event has grown to two marquees. We were walking around for a good couple of hours and I couldn’t resist a little purchase from Boxart.
The winner of the best stand category went to Wolfram Lohr (stall pictured above) for his wonderful workshop inspired stall. You can view pictures of Wolfram receiving his prize at www.vanillastorm.com.
Here are some of the other stalls that caught our eye:
Lucy Roscoe – intricate sculptural bookworks and objects made from paper
Sarah Malone – slipcast and thrown porcelain bottles, cups and bowls
Angela Davies – a collection of textile art, artist books and jewellery, incorporating old discarded items
Boxart – original outline illustrations mix with retro textiles and vintage photography
Sarah Morpeth – landscape and film-inspired sculptural bookworks incorporating cutting, stitch, paint and print
The event closes on Sunday and so make sure take a look over the weekend.
