Hunt for Hand-Making Heroes

In a bid to find new suppliers of quality, UK handmade gifts, online retailer Pressies4princesses has launched an exciting competition. The winner will receive £500 to invest in their business plus guaranteed orders worth £1,000 and an agreement to supply on an ongoing basis.
Managing partner Steve Sugden said, “We like to support UK craftspeople wherever we can ’ a quarter of our range is UK handmade ’ and we have already helped to launch the careers of several UK designer/makers by selling their wares through our Pressies4Princesses website.”
Hand-makers are invited to produce a sample gift (or range of gifts) and photograph it, then send the image to Pressies4princesses along with their written sales pitch for the product. A good pitch will outline who would buy it, for whom and why. All gifts must be handmade in the UK by the contestant. The winner will be selected via an online poll ’ a tactic that will generate plenty of free publicity for the finalists.
Gifts will be judged on their creativity, originality and on how likely they are to sell. Entries should fit with the Pressies4princesses brand and complement existing products on the site.
All entries must be received by 29 February 2008. For further details on how to apply go to www.pressies4princesses.co.uk.
