Paper Jewels

This week’s posts have centred around ‘the unusual’ and today’s feature is no exception. Each of the above is made from paper. Hence the name, Paper Jewels.
Each design is sketched by designer Jennifer Lownie. Additional paper is added for strength and the most delicate pieces have a ‘metal armature’ - a tiny skeleton cut from sheet brass or silver. After the paper has been cut and glued the finishing lacquer is applied.
There are a number of styles to choose from and custom orders are invited. For example, you can request your name in Japanese or Chinese calligraphy.
