Crafting for a Good Cause

We went to the supermarket the other day to pick up the weekly shop. We paid at the checkout, packed up the groceries and then came home. It was only when I was unpacking that I reaslised we had used 12 carrier bags without even thinking about it.
There’s been a lot of media coverage recently about the use of plastic bags and their negative impact on the environment and on wildlife. Did you know that 1 million plastic bags are consumed every minute globally? Well finally a small organisation called Morsbags is doing something about it and you can help too.
Morsbags is made up of lots of ‘pods’. Each pod makes their own reusable bags, often in a fun, social setting and distributes them for free to shoppers. Lots of people are already involved and pods are popping up everywhere. You too can help by setting up your own pod or putting your remnants to good use and making your own reusable bags. And I know that this is not the point but handmade fabric shoppers are so much more stylish than supermarket carriers.
