Priscilla Jones

Priscilla Jones has been producing contemporary stitched textiles since completing her degree in Embroidery in 1997. She draws her inspiration from a variety of sources - exploring identity, memory, time and historical textiles and fashion.
When I first came across Priscilla’s website, the piece that immediately drew my attention was the mixed media Gloves wall hanging. Created from a number of different fabrics, thread, buttons and a variety of stitches, the result is an unusual and very beautiful piece of art.
As well as producing wall hangings, interior fabrics and greeting card designs, Priscilla also creates 3 dimensional pieces. Again she uses a variety of materials in her work - wire, thread, fabric, paint, wax, and stitch. Take a look at the extraordinary mixed media Teapot (above right).
Further info is available at www.priscillajones.org.uk. And if you live in or around Lancaster, you can check out The Edge Gallery which Priscilla owns with her husband Ian.

Hi Natalie
It’s beautiful isn’t it. Maybe you would like to send some pics when you’ve finished your project? Let me know if this is of interest. You can email me via the website.
Good luck with the project.

Using some of Prescillas work for my textiles project, it has really inspired me to include some of the work in my final piece =)
Fantastic work!
