Black Sugar Skulls Dress Calm Elvis Dress

Leila Wylie, alias Cherry Momma, loves rock ‘n’ roll. She dresses like she loves rock ‘n’ roll and her toddler loves rock ‘n’ roll. It was when she couldn’t find rock ‘n’ roll clothes for her daughter that the idea for Cherry Momma was born.

Leila now makes and sells a whole range of edgy clothes for the younger set, adorned with tattoos, skulls, flames and cowgirls. Just look at these gorgeous t-shirt dresses for little rockettes, decorated with cute skulls and handsome Elvis pics. They’re made for playing and so will withstand plenty of abuse from active little girls.

The full range is available at www.cherrymomma.com.

Get Your Fix of Instant Fashion Happiness

T-Shirt by Instant Fashion Happiness T-Shirt by Instant Fashion Happiness

I’m sorry there’s been a bit of a gap between posts this week. I’ve had a really hectic few days, dashing around all over the place. But I’m back now and I’ve got some great designers to write about over the next few weeks, plus there will be more of the ‘Day in the Life of’ features that have proved so popular.

To round off the week I thought I’d feature the fabulous ‘Instant Fashion Happiness’. I met the designer, Sarah Randle through the Manchester Fashion Markets. Instant Fashion Happiness specialises in unique unisex print designs that are vivacious and fun. The focus for their current Spring/Summer 2006 range is clashing colours with vibrant graphic prints.

Skulls have been big news this season and the pink skulls and crossbones against the blue t-shirt (above left) give a quirky, edgy feel. In contrast the bright pink shoe t-shirt (above right) has a real girly, rock chic vibe.

Crafts, Drama, Glitter

Crafty Chica Goodies

Kathy Cano Murillo, alias Crafty Chica, writes about films and crafts for a living. And if that isn’t enough, she also makes art, working alongside her husband, Patrick, at their Phoenix home/studio. She describes herself as a ‘mom, wife, artist, author & left-handed middle-child binge crafter’!

The Crafty Chica website is full of crafty projects, podcasts, books, advice and her own handmade, glitter-filled, Latino-inspired creations. The site is bright, lively, entertaining, inspiring and highly addictive. I’ve just lost half of the afternoon reading through the articles and projects. Definitely one to add to your ‘Friday Afternoon Sites’ list.

Mexican Novela Glitter Earrings Religious Pictures Bracelet

I had a hard time picking out some Crafty Chica goodies to show you - there’s so much to choose from. However, I finally decided on these sexy, racy ‘Mexican Novela Glitter Earrings’ (above left), based on a Mexican comic story and this fabulous ‘Religious Picture Bracelet’ (above right) based on religious pictures from the Catholic faith.
