Moneypenny

Virginia Woolf once wrote that if a woman is to write fiction she must have ‘a room of her own’. I’ve often thought about having a room of my own, some sort of ‘creative space’ and what I would fill it with. This fabulous 1950s style chair by Aiveen Daly would be top of the list.
Named after James Bond’s Miss Moneypenny, the tweed fabric and button detailing exude sophistication and no-nonsense chic, whilst the frills and curves suggest a coy femininity.
Aiveen Daly’s showroom is full of contemporary furniture, combining traditional techniques with an array of inviting upholstery from vintage fabrics to woolly blankets. All have intriguing names such as ‘Spank’, ‘Woo Woo’ and ‘Bubblegum’.

What would you fill your room with?

If I had a room of my own to fill I would line the walls with lots of storage space and shelving for all my craft materials. I would have one particular wall full of little pigeon halls where I could store my yarns. I would have shelves full of glass bottles and jars full of buttons and beads. In the middle of the room I would have a slowly rotating platform on which I would place a Rhubarb ottoman. I could then relax whilst viewing my vast array of bits and bobs. Heaven!
I think your furniture is fabulous. I will definately tell my friends about your site.

Raye, your room sounds fab, I’d love to come and see your yarn shelf.
My room would be all yarn, full of every possible kind of yarn. In lots of colours and weights. And knitting needles – different types and sizes, including circular. There would probably be a nice little coffee bar attached to my room.
The Moneypenny is very stylish it would look good in my yarn room.
