Hello and welcome to the Indie Quarter. This is a brand new website and blog that has been set up to showcase the work of independent designers/makers.

When I launched my online shop (Aurora Bloom) earlier this year, I was struck by the number of US blogs and directories devoted to fashion designers, jewellery designers, crafters, artists, ceramicists and so on. In fact, I found a whole community of people designing and making innovative and unique products. However, when I tried to find similar sites in the UK I found that there were very few. The idea for Indie Quarter was therefore born.

Indie Quarter has two main purposes. Firstly, to promote the work of independent designers and secondly to offer discerning shoppers an alternative to mass produced products. With Christmas just around the corner we’ll be introducing you to a whole host of independent designers. Hopefully this will take some of the stress out of your Christmas shopping.
